Features

The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine provides a wide range of medical services for patients with cardiovascular diseases such as ischemic heart disease (angina pectoris, myocardial infarction), valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, hypertension, arrhythmia, etc. Echocardiography and state-of-the-art cardiac and vascular imaging equipment are utilized to treat these diseases.

In particular, ischemic heart disease, which has been on the increase in recent years, arteriosclerosis obliterans caused by occlusion or stenosis of peripheral blood vessels, and arrhythmia such as atrial fibrillation are the mainstay of our department, and we are actively providing acute stage treatment. Catheter ablation, a treatment for arrhythmia such as atrial fibrillation, which started in full swing in August 2016, is also increasing in number of cases.

In FY2021, we performed 2,189 cases of echocardiography, 6 cases of treadmill exercise stress electrocardiography, and 492 cases of Holter electrocardiography.

Since we do not have a cardiovascular surgery department, we collaborate with Toho University Medical Center Ohmori Ohashi Hospital, Tokyo Heart Center, NTT East Kanto Hospital, Kawasaki Saiwai Hospital, and IMS Katsushika Heart Center when surgery is required.
