There are three specialized treatment that we provide at our department.

1.Difficult cases of cataract surgery

Cataract surgery are available at outpatient-surgery.

2. Multidisciplinary treatment for diabetic macular edema

“OCT (optical coherence tomography)”, “OCT angiography,” and “Fluorescence fundus angiography” are added to normal examination if necessary. We cooperate with internal medicine to control blood glucose, blood cholesterol, etc. We mainly chose and select the necessary treatment from below for individual patients.

“Pattern Scan Laser”

Compared to conventional laser (photocoagulation), it is less painful and can be performed in a shorter time. We perform different procedures depending on the disease state.

“Anti-VEGF vitreous injection”

There is a factor called VEGF that acts on retinal vascular endothelial cells and causes macular edema. This drug strongly inhibits VEGF and improves macular edema. However, repeated injections are often required.

“Triamcinolone injection”

In recent years, diabetes has been considered a chronic inflammatory disease. Triamcinolone is injected into the eyelids and eyeballs as a drug that is effective against many inflammatory substances.
