Features
Tokyo Rosai Hospital has been striving to provide primary and secondary emergency medical care as a core hospital in the region. In order to further enhance emergency treatment in the future, an intensive care unit (ICU) was established in June 2011, and a safer system for receiving and managing severely ill patients has been put in place.
By maintaining close communication and cooperation between the Emergency Department and other departments, we have established a system that can quickly respond to traumatic diseases such as traffic accidents and falls, general internal medicine diseases such as chest pain, abdominal pain, and fever, and serious stroke diseases such as cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
In addition, we are also enhancing our community-based comprehensive emergency intensive care system day and night.
Furthermore, the experiences of the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, which were national disasters, have led to a strong interest in the development of a medical system for disasters. On November 21, 2014, our hospital was designated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Base Hospital, and we also organize DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team). We are determined to fulfill our role as a base hospital for disaster relief so that we can be at the forefront of providing medical support in times of disaster.
To Medical Students
It has been a long time since there was a shortage of physicians, and there is a serious shortage of emergency physicians. However, the image of emergency physicians is not very positive.
We do not say that it is an easy job, but we believe that it is rewarding. If there are any students who are interested in learning about the “reality of emergency medicine,” please contact the General Affairs Section for a tour. Why don’t you drop by for a visit during summer vacation or other long vacations?
